  • There wasn’t routine academics but practical experience counts.

Supervision:

  • For two months it was myself and a senior MO, that was the only supervisor. Later two other senior MO joined.

Clinical Exposure:

  • You will be doing C sections, suturing, reductions and icd placements amongst other procedures as well as exposure to clinic work.

Departments worked in:

  • Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Emergency Department, OPD’s – It’s a small hospital so you do ward rounds for adults, oeads and obstetrics. Doing c sections when necessary.

Social Scene:

  • Poor social scene unless you make friends with the allied health team.

Additional Comments:

  • “It is a small hospital thus no actual department. No consultant cover. Referral hospital is 400km away.
    The experience is worth it.”
