• Weekly intern PowerPoint presentation which gets reviewed and is commented on, the consultant may discuss a topic every few days. Weekly consultant ward round with teaching.

Supervision:

• Always consultant and/or clinical manager cover at least over phone, and in person during the day.

Clinical Exposure:

• No longer do casualty calls, so exposure is limited to ward patients and OPD. OPD is relatively varied.

• Psychiatry

Social Scene:

• Mafikeng is isolated with limited activities and social opportunities. Be prepared to drive to Gauteng on weekends.

Additional Comments:

• Excellent quality of life and wonderful community service experience.
