Outreaches are done by Worcester consultants once a month. There’s also teachings/ presentations. There’s monthly m&ms. HIV and TB training weekly.
Supervision:
Family physicians/ registrars are always on standby to assist you.
Clinical Exposure:
Ceres is a busy hospital and you’ll never lack clinical exposure. You will also learn to be independent. You will definitely be confident at the end of your community service. It’s a district hospital so you’ll be managing everything from Paeds, obs&gynae to psych.
Departments worked in:
Internal Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Anaesthetics, Psychiatry, ARV clinic, Emergency Department, OPD’s – There’s a theatre and if you are keen you’ll be able to to loads of Caesarean sections, and AKAs.
Social Scene:
It’s more for the mountain bikers/climbing folks. There’s lots of vineyards around. Ceres is a beautiful place.
