Academics:

• The new clinical manager has encouraged consultant ward rounds from various departments on certain days. Currently only emergency department has consultant ward rounds with teaching

Supervision:

• You are mostly on your own, but can always ask for help… It is available. However we refer to leratong Hospital and get most “supervision/advice” telephonically

Clinical Exposure:

• If you are eager to participate actively, the emergency department can be a great source of a variety of conditions that improve clinical exposure

Departments worked in:

• Surgery, Orthopaedics, Emergency Department, OPD’s – No real surgery department… Mostly lumps and bumps, we refer the rest to leratong.

Social Scene:

• People are nice, but as with all places there are some politics

Additional Comments:

• Overall a great place to work at if you don’t mind primary hospital health care
