Aviation for Healthcare Providers (AHCP)
This is a two-day course aimed at providing the advanced life support practitioner with the skills to work with critically ill patients that need to be transported via fixed-wing and rotor-wing and how to carefully move and work with these patients in and out of the air ambulances.

Audience
Advanced Life Support (ALS) Practitioners, doctors and Nurses (RNs) who are wanting to work in air ambulances.

• Aircraft legislation
• Physics for aviation
• Physiology and effects of flight
• Preparing and planning for flight
• Ventilation for aviation
• Pharmacology in flight
• Patient Packaging for flight
• Infection control
• Crew management and human factors
• Diagnostics and monitoring
• Special cases (paeds, neonates etc)
Certification
On successful completion of the course, participants will receive a CPD certificate, the CPD points are valid for 2 years.
Student Materials
Pre-course preparation occurs online through the AIEM website and an e-manual is available for the students. There is a pre and post-course test for this course.
